I was just in my room trying to find my sleep and almost contented that I was already able to post two blog entries when all of a sudden I remembered that ta-dah… I was not able to post my dinner out with Sheryl on her birthday. That was last month. I am afraid that its gonna be too late. 😦

Sheryl actually invited me to dine with her family at Lantaw Busay but because of my very busy schedule, I declined. We, however planned that we will go out and dine somewhere to celebrate her 30th birthday.

The dinner was unplanned. I just felt worksick. (Is there such a word?) She felt the same way too, I guess. So, we agreed to met at Bridges New Town for Sheryl to check the antique shop there and for me to see the furniture store. To our dismay the shops were already closed when we got there.

So, I told herethat we try Razons. I kept on saying something like Razors or Razoos and I just thought that’s funny how I used to passed by that restaurant everyday and still unable to get the correct name. Stupid me.

Anyway here is what we had. I got all these photos from Sheryl’s blog.

This is just like a very small area at J Center. Not very attractive at the first sight

Yay the menu.

I switch food with Sheryl. That is what will happen when you pick something. I thought I would want Tuna but I failed to read that its with Mayonnaise. Thank God that I have a friend who is just so willing to give way for me

Sheryl ate this for me. I would love the tuna minus the mayonnaise. I really can't understand the taste of mayonnaise at all. Not even in my burgers. I simply hate it.

Our smoothies. Strawberry. I don't really like Strawberry with the exemption of that night. As I said, I wanted something new.

I have to agree and I hate to admit it that I really look tired and haggard in this photo. Huhuhuhu

We paid around 250 pesos for this dinner. I am not so sure because the meal excluding drinks is only 79 pesos. Must be cheap. If your looking for a cheap or affordable food. Go try it here 🙂

My cheap gift for her. Hahahahaha

This is not the first time I mentioned Melva in my blog. In fact, I made a thank you blog for him a few years back. He has always been one of my favorite person in the world. Melva is just special and he always will be. 🙂

Just last month Melva flew to Taiwan for his new job. To be honest, I felt bad. I felt bad because I won’t be able to call him anytime anymore. Or I won’t be able to see him anytime and he could no longer treat me restaurants when I feel down. I am yet again saying goodbye to a very special person. ;-(

But on the other side of the coin, I am happy for him. Happy and excited for his new life. Afraid that maybe he will meet a lot of friends there and he might forget me ;-(. Selfish right? But I don’t have so many people in my life now.

I received the news last February when we had dinner before Valentines Day. When his departure was finally confirmed, he gave me a call and we agreed to met at J center. I told him I am going to treat him but he ended up paying for it. LOL

He was talking with Irene on the other line

He was talking with Irene on the other line

I will miss him terribly. He is a very kind friend with emphasis on “is”. I couldn’t help but cry when we were at the mall. I would have wanted to watch Starting All Over Again with him but changed my mind. I want to take that opportunity to talk to him because I know I won’t be able to talk to him until maybe the next 2 years. I don’t have facebook anymore and I doubt if he will be able to call me.

We talked about a lot of things. Future plans. I can’t believe that at his age he is still thinking about marriage. I am stupid right? He isn’t too old for that, no one is!  Whoever that girl is. He is one lucky person. I told him about my plans for Canada as well. I am hoping that I will be able to do it this year. It is gonna be this year or never. 😦

Sometimes, people just can’t stay as always and as often as you want them to. They have their own lives to live.

I will miss you Melva. Thanks for the friendship. Thanks for always being there when I just needed a friend to lean on. Thank you for listening to all my non-sense, to all my useless ramblings.

Thank you for being you. 😉

I hope you will find me when you get back.  I am just here ;-). Take care my friend

Cebu Sumibi Yakiniku Tajimaya

Posted: March 30, 2014 in Restaurants

This is a new restaurant in Mactan at Blk A G/F Mactan Marina Mall Mepz 1 Lapu-Lapu City. They opened Mactan branch just this year I think. We were checking this restaurant last January when Irene had her vacation. We were planning to dine here but later decided to just dine at Nonki when she learned of the price range. I really don’t think its expensive but she was paying for that dinner so Melva and I agreed to just have it at NOnki like we usually do.

So finally I was able to eat here. Thank you to the company I work for 🙂

From the word itself “Yakiniku” which means grilled meat. They will serve mostly barbecues here and you have to cook it yourself. You don’t have to worry though because the meat are thinly sliced that it is just so easy to cook. Just make sure that you aren’t too hungry to wait a few more minutes for your food to be ready. They also have siomai and gyouza in jumbo sizes.

Everything we had was grilled that night. We had an eat-all- you -can for 450 pesos each. I reserved the private room because we were 10 pax.

We had the grilled sauges, beef, chicken, pork, shrimp. They prided their US angus beef and I must say its delish.

Showing you our photos:

And then we had icecream… Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy

I love this place. I was afraid that I might have digestive problem the next day like I did when we ate at Tongro but thanks God I didn’t. I was perfectly fine. 🙂

You gotta love this kind of dinning. I did 🙂

By the way here is the phone number should you like to make a reservation. Just call (032) 260-8798

I must admit that I no longer go to restaurants as often as I did years ago. I think I am over the fun part of life. Forgive me, I am not usually like this but while writing this post, I am not at my best mood.

Never mind what I am feeling at the moment. I have to tell you about this restaurant I’ve tried. I visited two new restaurant to add to my list this month. Not bad.

I went to Grand Blue Live Native Music Restaurant in Mactan. This restaurant is adjacent to El Sueño , the restaurant we visited for Yanagawasan’s sayonara party.

Showing you the good parts of this dinner:

This restaurant is a Korean restaurant that served Filipino foods as well.

I have seen the menu for Korean dish but I just thought that they are too expensive.

Forgive me that I cant show what the restaurant really look like from the inside. I remember that I took a photo of the place but I was using Arleada’s camera and she just sent me these photos. She forgot to send the rest of it I bet.

I enjoyed the dinner a lot. Good food and good company makes a perfect night. I just thought that the food were all normal, nothing extraordinary. I however think that the price is right. 🙂

Cafe Old Cul-de-sac

Posted: March 23, 2014 in Restaurants

Yes, its a classy restaurant inside Santo Niño village in Talamban and I had my birthday lunch there. I like it nice and quiet. I don’t like the crowd anymore. I’m afraid that I am starting to be like Sheryl.

So, From Colon we rode 13C to get to Talamban. I was a bit hesitant to have our late lunch there because I thought that the place is just far. But then I changed my mind and I am truly glad that I did. We don’t know any decent restaurant in Colon that’s perfect for a birthday celebration. So Cafe Old Cul-de-sac that is!

Unlike 10th dove street, Cafe Old Cul-de-sac is easy to locate. Just look for the Maya street,  walk and keep on walking until you get to the dead-end street. No wonder this restaurant is called Old ” Cul-de-sac” which also means dead-end.

I learned from Sheryl that this place is a residence that was turned into a restaurant. Cool 🙂

YOu could see just how inviting the place is from the outside

See? The place is very homey. I have not told Sheryl but at the time at the back of my mind I was thinking that the place is a perfect venue for my wedding reception. In my sordid dreams. wahahahaha

Here’s the food:

For your information they have very affordable food in generous servings. Do you know that I only paid 550 pesos for all these? I gave a tip to the waiter as well. He was not as friendly as I would want him to be but he did his job well. I could like him.

They have the right amount of servings. I don’t have any complain aside from the fact that I needed extra rice. I am a rice person you know.

The chicken was so tender and that was by far the best friend chicken that I have. It was cook to perfection. I will have friend chicken again should I decide to visit here again.

Sheryl loves her fish fillet as well. We were all smiles.

I recommend this place for anyone who wants to be alone or who wants to impress a date. I so love love the place.

I’d like to show you a sneak peek of my photo shoot last March 17. I know it was out of my usual silent birthday celebration. It still didn’t make any noise though but as per Sheryl it turned out to be a an expensive Birthday but I don’t mind. I am crazy like that. What could I do?

It took me months of planning and months of saving what little I have. At 30, I never really get to wear a gown of my choice. I never get to wear a gown on my JS Prom.  I wore a Sunday’s best dress and an over-sized shoes. Everything I had that night was borrowed. I had a horrible outfit and an awful make up to match. Glamour was never my mothers concern. On my 18th birthday. I never get to wear a gown too. In the group of girls, only Sheryl and I were not able to have 18 roses or any program for that very special day. I never really had the chance to glamour up. Imagine how it made me feel.

So on my 30th birthday, I had a pictorial with the support of my closest friend Sheryl. She picked that gown for me. I couldn’t thank her enough. She knows just what I want.

Image

I borrowed this gown at Noelle West Bridal at 600 pesos. The gown is a peach blossom pink in color with all the ribbons in the world. It is so princess like that I just fell in love with it right away. I didn’t have the tiaras to match but I did buy a headband that matches my dress oh so perfectly.  I tried at least around 10 gowns and this was the last gown I tried on and it was just awesome.

Image

Just my dream gown. Fabulous…

Image

The studio was packed when we got there. I will have another entry about the studio. Anyway I paid 1,850 including my tip. The pictorial package already is inclusive of make up.

The attendant kept on asking us if we were there for our graduation pic. I am glad that we don’t really look our age. Even more amazed that at times we don’t really act our age.

I have to thank Sheryl a million times for that day. I love this friend so much. She was my PA for that day. She was very very patient with me. Supporting me in everything. She’s a hell of a friend. Thanks Sheryl. Love youuuuuuuuu mwahhhhhhhhhhhhh…

While writing this, I am thinking of having this kind of thing every after 5 years. What do you think?
