This is the best part of having a job like mine. There are a lot of freebies. Eating in restaurants is just one of them. My work is tiresome and I also get suicidal at some point for just staying a year longer. But hey, there are also some things that I have to be thankful for aside from having really kind bosses. I get to go out too and last week we dine at Jumbo Restaurant.

What a torture to pass by this restaurant everyday and not been able to try it yet. I often told myself that I am going to dine here one day and one day came last week. 🙂

Showing you what’s inside 🙂

When we got there I decided to request to dine indoor but I was told that during night time , they often suggest that as much as possible, guests will try outdoor because they have shows. Serenades.

And the most exciting part? All staff will dance every last song after an hour. So, they dance at least 3 times in a night. At 7:00 pm, 8:00 and 9:00 pm. When we we’re there they dance to the beat of Dancing Queen, Ocho-ocho , and Psyche’s Gangnam Style.

And what amazes me was that even the drivers were dancing. Everyone… As in everyone including the guards.

Here’s the food.

They have dinner set menu which is 600 pesos excluding drinks with a minimum of 4 pax.

Here’s what we had for the 600 pesos dinner set menu:

1.) Jumbok Jeok

2.) Shell Soup

3.) Crab Curry

4.) Friend Cream Dory

5.) Tempura

6.) Chilli Prans

7.) Fish Sweet & Sour

8.) Tuna Tataki

9.) Baked Abalone

10.) Baked Scallop

11.) Grilled Squid

12.) Adobo Kang-kong

13.) Yang Chow

Grilled Squid

Tuna Tataki

Yang Chow Rice

Fish Sweet & Sour

Baked Scallop

Adobo Kang-Kong

Chili Prawns

Jumbok Jeok

Fried Cream Dory

Shell Soup

Tempura

Crab Curry

I can’t find the photo of baked abalone. Anyway, it’s served almost exactly as the baked scallop but I liked the baked scallop better. I like anything that that is not an alien to my taste buds. I haven’t tried the tuna tataki because it looks alien to me. LOL

Thumbs up to how they presented the foods. I like how they have all those big and heavy plates.

The taste is expected. What I am trying to say is that the grilled squid tasted like a grilled squid. But you can really tell that the sea foods were cooked fresh.

I just love the presentation. I go crazy over their plates. I must say that the garnishing is something that will make you wanna eat right there and then.

We we’re all smiles:

That’s me and Brigs at their dessert factory.

Ohhh before I forgot. Let me show you inside their dessert factory.

and for that night their specialty is the Buko Pie.

I lab this!!!! It was still hot when served to us. I couldn’t get over how delicious this was.

I had mango shake that night.

Hehehehe 🙂

For reservation you can dial 032-239-6546 or 09177180246

They have free pick up and drop off within Mactan Area.

By the way they also serve lunch set at 300 pesos minimum of 4 pax with the ff. menu:

1.) Lomi

2.) Yaki Tori

3.) Jjasu

4.) Sunomono

5.) Kansasiwo

6.) Fried cream dory

7.) California Roll

8.) Garlic Rice

Not only that they also served Lapu-Lapu SAshimi set that includes tempura, salmon steak, fresh oysters and many more….

I recommend this restaurant and please when you get there please don’t forget to have in your menu the “fried cream dory”. It was the best food I had eaten there so far. They serve the best desserts too. 🙂

Chic-Boy Restaurant

Posted: April 28, 2014 in Restaurants

Before Irene drop me off to the airport on my last day. We dined at Chic-boy which means chicken at baboy.

This fast casual restaurant reminded me so much of the famous Mang Inasal in Cebu.

It was crowded when we got there. Irene told me that the place is always crowded because the foods are really affordable and you know just how much Filipinos love Chicken and pork. They have the best Liempo too, so that explains it!

image

I had this taken when we exited the restaurant. There were a lot of people inside that it was hard to take photos without being noticed. Grrrrr I hate the crowd.

The chicken barbecue is just normal. The good thing is its affordable. We had this at 99 pesos with rice already.

Irene and I

They also have the sulit tipid meals which are like 59-69 pesos. I should have tried it. Irene suggested that but we opt for the available meal but  I needed to catch up for my flight back home. So little time 😦

It was a good experience. I personally think they are better than Mang Inasal because there are a lot of choices.

Next Door Noodles

there is one thing I regret most after visiting Manila. It’s me not blogging right away. I didn’t blog right away not only because I had no time but also because I was nursing an ailing hypothalamus. That was one of my depressing days. I was like visiting Manila thinking that after that, I will go home refreshed and I will forget a broken heart. I was damn wrong. I became worst. I am better now though. Thank you for the inspiring person who is with me all the way.

Anyway, I went to this restaurant called Next Door in Makati. This is the same company as North Park. I had breakfast here before I went to Ocean Park since the restaurant is located just a few blocks from where I stayed. I have a good memory of this restaurant.

😉

Showing you what we had for breakfast below:

The view outside 🙂

The place is clean. Thumbs up!

My plate :-). Chicken as always

Irene’s

I am so sorry that I cannot be informative on this blog even if I’ll try to. I don’t even have any idea how much we paid for all these.

All I can say is that I love the food. I do think they have one of the best siomai too. One pot is more than enough for one person. I found it hard to eat all that was served. By the way they also deliver.

If you want you could visit the website www.northpark.com.ph

BonChon Chicken, Makati

Posted: April 9, 2014 in Restaurants

I can’t really say much about Bonchon because we just tried their ice cream when we dropped by here while we were at Ayala Triangle.

I decided to make a separate blog on this because the next time I will visit Manila. I will try my best to try what they have. Ice cream is never enough

If only I was not full. I would have tried something for dinner :-(

This was like 65 pesos if I remember it right. I would have loved it minus the strawberry

I didn’t think it was a good idea for Irene to suggest that we try ice cream that night as  it was cold and eating ice cream, though it was my fave, was the last thing on my mind. I just gave it a try and decided that I hate strawberries. It was a bad choice.

It would have been a good restaurant had I tried something more… 🙂

Tokyo Tokyo

Posted: April 9, 2014 in Restaurants

This Tokyo Tokyo Restaurant is inside Mall of Asia. Irene told me that there is no Tokyo Tokyo branch in Cebu but I’ve heard of Tokyo Jones restaurant. I’ve never tried that though.

I told her that I wanted to dine at a Japanese restaurant and she had to make sure it is affordable. And yes, Tokyo Tokyo is affordable. 🙂

We roam around Mall of Asia and it was making me dizzy. I saw a lot of people. It was like people everywhere. The transportation from Makati to Mall of Asia isn’t that easy as well. It was too tiring but the experience was all worth it!

The missing "O" for Tokyo hahahah

I am glad they offer Bento for dinner because Nonki in Cebu don’t. To order Bento is very convenient as it already holds rice, meat , and vegetable. A complete meal.

We also had black sambo for dessert and for our drinks we had red Iced Tea. The Iced Tea is really really good. I could go addicted to this drink, really.

🙂

Beef Misono Bento at that time is at 185 pesos and Pork Tonkatsu Bento is at 180 pesos.

I am not sure how much we paid for all that because as I said all my receipts are unreadable.

It was one of the best Japanese restaurant I’ve been.

I could go here again and again…

Wendy’s at Makati

Posted: April 9, 2014 in Restaurants

I arrived in Manila on the night of September 01,2012 and the next day we had breakfast at Wendy’s in Poblacion Makati. A few blocks from where I stayed.

I remember that a few years back we had Wendy’s in Cebu but all outlets were closed because they were not profitable. I think Cebuano’s prefer Jollibee more compared to Wedny’s which is an American fast food.

Firstly, I told Irene that I wanted to try something that is not in Cebu so she brought me here. Wendy’s is a lot like Jollibee only better burgers and higher rates.

Irene :-) ... I miss u gurl :-(

Irene 🙂 … I miss u gurl 😦

I can't do without rice. I have to have rice for breakfast. Irene just had burgers because she's not use to eating breakfast. Small wonder she is as slim as she always is :-)

and I was ready to go... It was a good breakfast after all.

Thumbs up for Wendy’s. I love it……:-)

I hope I was able to try a variety of your menu. But my stomach could only take more.

I visited Manila last 2012. It was like 2 years already and I haven’t blog anything about my tour in Manila yet. Yes, I know. You can scold me.

Anyway, I am doing myself a favor now and I will try my best to remember everything. My food trip most especially.

For my first night in Manila. Irene and I went to Landmark and had dinner at Chuck’s Steak and Chops at the food court.

Actually now, I am trying to check all my receipts because I could no longer remember how much we paid for it. I can’t read the amount anymore. I am so sorry.:-(

We paid around 80 pesos I think for the combo porchop and less than a hundred peso for the bangus steak. I am quite sure that we paid less than 400 pesos including drinks. That’s cheap right?

Here’s the photos:

I had this. And it was uber delicious. I so love it! I just hope I had extra rice.

I still had jet lag when we had the dinner and the crowd didn’t help. That night I realized just how crowded Manila could be.

I enjoyed the dinner though. I was too hungry to care. I was enjoying my fish steak. I am glad that Irene took me here. They don’t have any branch in Cebu yet. My first, and hopefully not the last.
